Noise Concerns

Aldinga Airfield is an non-controlled airfield, meaning there is no air traffic control service offered. The airfield operates under an EPA license imposed curfew and pilots operating at the airfield are required to comply with the conditions imposed. The curfew only applies to aircraft taking off & landing at the airfield but not to aircraft simply operating in the vicinity. Being a coastal aerodrome, many aircraft operate or transit the airspace near the airfield particularly in fine weather. Pilots of aircraft based at the airfield are aware of noise sensitive areas & the conditions of the curfew.

Occasionally pilots of visiting aircraft have not been aware of the EPA curfew and have landed outside the stipulated hours or conducted operations in breach of license conditions. The airfield owners have no control over these aircraft but are obliged to report any known breaches to the EPA.

Aldinga Aviation supports fly neighbourly operations and welcomes any information that may assist us in our efforts.

The following websites may assist in determining the origin, operator, aircraft type & destination of an aircraft of concern:

Noise issues should be directed to Adelaide Biplanes on 8556 5404 during business hours in the first instance. Outside business hours or should you prefer to email us please contact Jan Logan at or Patrick Normoyle at .
